2013 Concert Information
Mwangaza Children’s Choir will tour the U.S. again in 2013 from January until June. The choir consists of 20 children aged 8 through 11, and is drawn each year from different regions of Uganda representing a cross-section of over 40 tribes and language groups in this diverse East Central African nation. The choir is accompanied by a choir director, teacher, and ministry spokesperson from Uganda; a two or three person technical crew, and several others from the U.S. and the United Kingdom in charge of child sponsorship sign-ups, bookkeeping, and craft sales.
The choir tour is focused in different geographic regions of the U.S. each year, with the focus region for 2013 now under evaluation and review. The home base for the 2013 choir and the preliminary tour schedule should be announced in the late spring of 2012.
Details for reserving a concert performance for your church or organization:
• $500 commitment fee to secure your date, which underwrites traveling fees between Uganda and the US for the choir.
• Commitment to hold a “love offering” on behalf of Africa Renewal Ministries and Mwangaza Children’s Choir at the conclusion of each concert.
• Showing a short video at the conclusion of the concert that illustrates the power of child sponsorship for $35 a month.
• Displaying in the lobby or space outside the concert area photographs of children who need a loving sponsor; sponsorship sign-up forms; and general information about Africa Renewal Ministries.
• Presentation of a crafts table outside the concert area where CDs, authentic Ugandan crafts, jewelry and art will be offered for sale. 100% of this revenue supports the ministry.
To help reduce travel expenses, the choir members – children and adult leaders – will stay with host families during the tour. The host-family accommodations are coordinated by local churches at each of the tour’s stops.
