Mwangaza Children’s Choir will tour the United States again in 2013 from January until June. The choir has toured the United States four out of the past seven years and consists of twenty children aged eight through eleven. These bright children are drawn each year from different regions of Uganda representing a cross-section of over 40 tribes and language groups in this diverse East Central African nation. The choir is accompanied by a choir director, teacher, and ministry spokesperson from Uganda; a two person technical crew, and several others from the United States and the United Kingdom in charge of child sponsorship sign-ups, bookkeeping, and craft sales.
The choir tour is focused in different geographic regions of the country each year, with the focus region for 2013 now under evaluation and review. The home base for the 2013 choir and the preliminary tour schedule will be announced in the late spring of 2012.
