The global need of poverty-stricken, starved and sick children is overwhelming. Disturbing images of malnourished, ill-treated and helpless children fill the news and flash across television and movie screens. Some individuals feel inspired to help in their own way, some feel jaded and apathetic and some feel discouraged by the poor state of so much of the world. Whatever the reaction, there are so many international non-profits and organizations who strive to help and intervene, so what distinguishes one from another?
The sincerity and genuine nature of Africa Renewal Ministries is tangible. Those who have traveled to Uganda have seen firsthand the truly incredible adults and children involved with the ministry. The stories of the individual people in Uganda speak louder than anything else.
Western visitors arrive to Uganda and can not deny the stark contrast in living conditions from their respective financially blessed nations. However, the faces of waving children running alongside vans full of tourists represent the inherent lifestyle of the Ugandan people. Their seemingly harsh upbringing does not replace their positive spirits.
The children strive and yearn to become educated and self-sustaining, but often do not have the outlets to “break the cycle” of hardship. ARM gives those children the avenue for paid education, medical care, meals, clothing, discipleship and accountability. They will learn how to work hard, be encouraged to attain higher education and finish youth instilled with responsible ways to provide and take care of a family. The ripple effect of encouraging and loving the children is undeniable. It trickles through their families, friends, communities and changes the course of their lives.
Mission:
To enhance the holistic development of the child, church and community through support systems that shall ensure next generation Christian leaders.
Vision:
To develop “next generation” Christian leaders in Africa who transform society by living Christian lives based on Biblical principles.
The child sponsorship program allows children in dire circumstances to be fed, clothed and educated. ARM has a number of educational, medical, agricultural and Biblical programs to ensure the comprehensive development of our various beneficiaries in our care. Including, but not limited to, the Mercy Network – a ministry to feed the neediest families in Uganda while spreading the Gospel; Gaba Bible Institute – higher education institution to theologically teach individuals the Word of God and train them to minister; Bethany Children’s Village – a community to provide safe housing and adequate education for children.
ARM is a member of the Evangelical Fellowship of Uganda.
Goals:
God has given us the great dream of duplicating the “Ggaba Model” in areas around Uganda and East Africa. Ggaba is now a community consisting of an ever-growing and developing church, primary school (equivalent to elementary and middle school in the U.S.), secondary school (equivalent to high school in the U.S.), medical center and child sponsorship project. The goal is to replicate such an environment – the “Ggaba Model” – all over Uganda.
The following areas of Uganda have been adopted by ARM: Bethany Village, Bukwo, Entebbe, Gulu, Kabale, Kakuto, Kampala, Kapchorwa, Mayuge, Mbarara, Mubende, Namutamba, Rakai, Rukungiri and Soroti. These villages and districts have aspects of the “Ggaba Model,” but there are ever-evolving projects that have great needs.
We are praying for churches and communities who will partner with us to complete these projects and help us grow in God’s work throughout Uganda and Africa.

ECFA was founded in 1979 to provide an official financial approval and authorization to evangelical charities and churches in the U.S.
